“Our aim is to have an impact beyond philanthropic giving. Fairness and progressive ideas are weaved throughout the business, benefiting everyone we touch or that make what we do possible.”

Planet

We choose to buy coffee grown using more sustainable farming practices - this tends to mean happy plants and healthier soils! Healthy soil means so much more than just tasty coffee. Healthy soils mean increased biodiversity, better carbon sequestration, and even help mitigate the effects of climate change.

Amazingly, almost 90% of our business emissions come from ‘purchased goods and services’. In normal language, this means green coffee. So, buying coffee grown with lower impact is literally the best thing we can do; way beyond packaging, electric cars, or recycling waste. Whilst those things are of course worth doing, it is absolutely critical that we buy coffee from growers who are looking after the soil if we want to reduce our impact on the land.

People

As a buying of goods from around the world, we have an unique ability to have social impact across the globe. This opportunity is one of the biggest drivers for growth within our business; we really can have enormous impact throughout our supply chain and local community.

We believe measurable impact starts close to home; how we treat our employees & what engagement do we have with our local community. Then, we have the real stories of our producer groups and supply chain. How can we redistribute the profit from a UK business to communities and will the benefits ever reach those that need it most. Combining these things can and should result in transformational impact beyond traditional ‘charity’. We believe we’re on the right track.
