We started sourcing coffees from Khipu in 2025, who focus solely on Peru’s finest and most remote producers. Peru has been an origin that has intrigued us for some time, but we’d never truly explored what it had to offer, until we cupped the coffees that Mark and the team were bringing over.

Our eyes and taste buds were enlightened the first time we cupped samples from Khipu, we’d never tasted such a diverse range of varieties and processes from Peru before, and it reminded us a lot of the scope of coffee coming out of Colombia. In order to understand this origin more and explore its potential we booked ourselves a spot on a trip out there in July 2025 and we haven’t looked back since.

The lots we’re buying from Khipu are some of the highest scoring of our offer list and are from producers who are pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a producer in Peru. Combining high quality varieties, experimental processing and low intervention agroforestry techniques, these producers are serious about what they do and how they do it.

We’re buying multiple lots from four small producers across the Amazonas and Cajamarca regions, in varying quantities each year as we find our footing with this origin. Although small in quantity we’re committed to buying these lots each year, celebrating the quality and diversity coming out of this special place.
