Brew Guide - V60
While we love making coffee for ourselves, making a pour over for your loved one/s feels like extra special. This recipe is the perfect accompaniment to your morning easter egg
The V60 method is great for home brewing. It’s inexpensive, compact and delivers a really clean cup of coffee. You also look like a boss when you have people over, here’s our favourite way to brew with one.
You’ll need:
30g freshly ground coffee (medium-coarse, like sea salt)
500g water at 92–93°C
Equipment
V60 dripper + filter
Scale & timer
Kettle (ideally gooseneck)
Method
Rinse your filter with hot water and discard the rinse water.
Add coffee to the V60 and level the bed.
Bloom (0:00–0:30)
Pour 100g water, ensuring all grounds are wet, bloom until 30 seconds.
Second Pour (0:35–1:00)
Add another 100g water (total: 200g)
Main Pour (1:00–2:30)
Slowly pour the remaining 300g in a circular motion.
Aim to reach 500g total water by about 2:30
Let the coffee drain naturally
Total brew time should be around 3:30–4:00
