Brunch on the Farm // Francli Phone Case Making Workshop

Here on the farm, we're gearing up for our first public event and we're getting pretty excited about it. The idea is to bring together a talented group of makers, chefs, and musicians to entertain guests over 3 days. The venue is the same barn we roast our coffee, and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food, learn valuable new skills and meet an inspiring network.

One of the makers running a workshop is Ali from Francli Craftwear, she's a resident on the Farm and has been building the business and a reputation for quality and innovation from Argal since she moved here almost 3 years ago.  

Francli designs hardy workwear and outdoor accessories for explorers and creators. The phone case has been one of their most popular products ever since the remarkable 'Fresh Fields Project' back in 2013. They worked with Greenpeace to upcycle tents, wellies and other party detritus from Glastonbury Festival into wallets, back packs and, you guessed it.... Phone Cases. Some of them are still being used today!

So what's the plan for Ali's workshop?

The workshop will start with pre-cut lanyards to teach the basics of saddle stitching. Once you've made your lanyard (which you also get to keep) it's time to design, cut and sew a your own unique case. This can either be from the Francli pattern, or if you're feeling extra creative, you can adapt this pattern to be a case of your own design.

You can choose from leather, Hypalon (recycled off cuts from boats) or wellies.

What you'll need to bring: 

Optional - Old wellies (if you want to use these for your phone case), leather and Hypalon is provided.
