The first Ethiopian lot of the year has landed, a bright and juicy natural from Mohammed Aba Nura in the Jimma region of western Ethiopia. We are always excited for the return of the delicate, floral profiles Ethiopian coffees bring to our cups as they arrive in the height of summer.
For many of us in coffee it was tasting an Ethiopian coffee for the first time that spun our heads and showed us what coffee could really be - this particular lot reminds us of that experience, and one we are so thrilled to share with you.

OUR PACKAGING

Our 250g bags are 100% plastic-free and can be recycled with your household paper or composted in your garden. We recommend storing your coffee in an airtight container like this one.

Our 1kg bags are LDPE 4 packaging, a type of soft plastic, very common in food packaging. For home consumers LDPE 4 is still not curbside recyclable, but is accepted at local recycling points and dedicated soft plastics deposit points. Find a location near you.

Our reasoning for buying a coffee is based on so much more than what the coffee tastes like in the cup; of course flavour is important to us, but we exist to work with like minded people as much as buying delicious coffee.

Osito coffee importers have been purchasing Mohammed’s coffee for many years, and when asked why they continue to buy his coffee the response was simple but told us everything we needed to know - ‘He is a lovely man, very dedicated to quality, consistency and honesty in his business standards.’ We could wish for nothing more in finding a producer who is aligned with our own values of work and life.
The result is a super expressive but well controlled fermentation process and one the best cups we’ve had of late.
This is the first year featuring coffee from Mohammed Aba Nura, but you can be certain that his coffee will return in future seasons.
