Yes yes yes, here we go with another one of those 'melt your melon' coffees that we love so much. We're roasting this one on the light side to highlight the floral notes - it's bursting with jasmine and citrus fruit - with the right brew you'll find the perfect balance of sweet and sour.
Producer: Halo Beriti
Origin: Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia
Variety: Heirloom
Process: Washed
Tasting notes: Juicy and sweet, with a tart acidity that makes it sing. Have a good whiff before you drink to get that floral thing going
The Halo Beriti station is on the small side, with just 750 smallholders contributing to this grade 1 lot. Coffees in Ethiopia are typically traceable down to the washing station, just like this one. Many of the farmers own less than 0.5 hectare of land and they grow without the use of pesticides and fertilisers, mostly because they cannot afford to use them. Organic by necessity, while producing the highest and most impressive quality. This amazing feat is due to the heirloom varietals, fertile lands and perfect conditions for growing.
