A wonderful, complex and dynamic coffee that’s rewarding for those who like to play with a recipe and get geeky. The brew can be absolutely exquisite; super sweet with pronounced acidity and a spicy finish.

For around a decade now, Rwanda has been producing outstanding coffee. Indeed, it is now heralded as a top producer of the types of beans that we so love. This is in large part due to the ideal growing conditions and volcanic soils, but also the improved infrastructure that allows for lot separation and better traceability. Without this investment, great coffees can be lost in blends and their value to the producer is never seen.

Gitwe is a new washing station in the Nyamasheke district of Rwanda. It’s a small station, with around 800 farmers delivering cherries. This year they produced just 3 containers, so we’re very happy to be roasting this lot. Quality over quantity pretty much sums it up.

Our packaging & what to do with it...

Our 250g bags are 100% plastic-free and can be recycled with your household paper or composted in your garden. We recommend storing your coffee in an airtight container like this one, not in the fridge.

Our 1kg bags are home compostable but not domestically recyclable, please don't put them in your curbside recycling.
