This is a naturally processed Maracaturra, 1 of 2 microlots that we bought from our favourite sisters in Nicaragua. This is the wild one; full bodied & full flavour like a boozey fruit compote.

Producers: Anna & Martha Albir
Origin: Finca Bethania, Nicaraguan
Variety: Maracaturra
Process: Natural
Taste: Red berry compote. Wild and fruity.

This is the second year that we’ve bought single varietal micro-lots from Finca Bethania; an exquisite farm run by sisters Martha and Ana Albir. Microlots can be seen as the best of the best - selected for their unique flavour profiles and processed separately so that tiny amounts can be sold without blending.

The varietal is Maracaturra - a hybrid varietal with praised cup characteristics and high yields, given the quality. This makes it an ideal choice for growers who want to improve quality without risking their crops.

The natural processing really stands out here, bringing extra depth and complexity to an exciting cup. If you love naturals then you’ll love this.
