The Aguilera family have been producing top quality coffee in Costa Rica for over a decade. This farm ‘Licho’ is one of their oldest - some 80 years young. We’re basically roasting coffee  royalty.

The Aguileras are 12 brothers and sisters, all of whom are  involved in coffee as inherited from their parents. The  brothers work the mill and farms themselves with basically  no hired labor, other than pickers during the harvest. With  the help of the third generation, they work the mill and  drying patios, prune the coffee fields, fertilize, etc, year round.  

When they bought Licho they replanted the farm with the  new Villa Sarchi and SL-28 varietals. Villa Sarchi is native to  the area and became very popular due to its large yield and high cup score. This, combined with their steadfast passion  for controlled processing has yielded a truly delicious coffee.  Brew carefully and enjoy a berry complexity similar to your  favourite Pinot Noir. Yum yum.

Our Packaging & what to do with it...

Our 250g bags are 100% plastic-free and can be recycled with your household paper or composted in your garden. Our 1kg bags are home compostable but not domestically recyclable, please don't put them in your curbside recycling.
