This is the final release from this year's bumper Peruvian crop. Once again it is a show stopper. It's easy to love this coffee - it's fruity and refined, silky and sweet - plus, it's really pleasing to brew because it smells so good when you grind it!

Taste: Bergamot and cocoa nib florals. Exotic acidity; mango, lemon zest, kiwi. 

Carmen Carrasco owns 3ha of land in San Pedro, Tabaconas district, Peru. Its a small farm and a family affair. In fact, Carmen's mother lives at the farm and still coordinates the farm work. This lot is 100% caturra and has a cupping score of 87.5 - meaning the premium is good and the taste is even better. Interestingly, the caturra trees are from an old plot on the farm, which is why the beans show the characteristic small, round form, common in old caturras in Northern Peru.

This direct relationship between importer and producer is rare in Peru. It serves as a great example of how 'speciality' coffee and lot separation can improve the supply chain and increase value. Plus, the traceability means we know where the premium ends up.
